We had a good time in Wyoming this year chasing antelope with bows and then finishing up with rifles for those of us who suck at bowhunting :)
I have a lot of pics, so I thought I'd just share the story as is on my blog. Here is the link:

The post on 180 whiteys vs 200 Muleys got me thinking. I had this discussion with a buddy on a shed hunting trip last weekend -- What's more difficult to kill - a record book bull elk (375) or a record book mule deer (190 typical 230 nontypical)?
I'm looking for a good Antelope Taxidermist. I'm looking for someone who does a lot of them and has photos of their work. Would like to within 3 hours of SLC. Thanks

I'd appreciate some feedback on this kml. I'm going to make these available for download and Wyoming's maps have always been a bit poor.
If you have google earth on your computer, click the link and the file should download. It has the Wyoming Deer hunt units for the entire state, including...
I drew this tag as a second choice this year (Second Season). I'm curious if any of you have hunted it before and what is a reasonable expectation as far as bucks go. I've heard mixed reviews on the unit, but most of them were 4 or 5 years ago.

I know this hunt is a bit weather dependent, but where you woul you place it compared to the likes of Vernon or the books for a deer hunt.
I'm curious if anyone has hunted it, especially the archery hunt.

I'm getting close in NR points to pulling a tag for sheep in Wyoming. I've always thought I would hunt 5 - as I know it the best. 24 would be really cool, but its probably out of the question for me. I was talking sheep the other day with a buddy and we were talking about 6 and 7. Does 6...
Has anyone seen any good bulls on the Manti unit in Utah while chasing spikes or bucks since the opener? I have a LE tag. I've been scouting and hunting already, but just want to do the best I can and get as much information as possible. Thanks guys!

I just wanted to jump on and thank those of you who have given me info on my upcoming elk hunt. I posted in the Utah section - as not to saturate every forum with Utah posts. I will be hunting the Manti with stick and string here in a week and a half. I'm excited for the opportunity, knowing I...
I had the opportunity to do a trade for some taxidermy work and decided to get this bull I killed in Wyoming back in 2002 done. I'm very happy with how he turned out. What do you think?

In your opinion, what are the 5 best moose units in Idaho?
If you could pick a mid range unit with a good chance at a 40 inch moose what would it be?

I was lucky enough to draw a Manti Archery tag this year. I know the unit a little bit but always welcome any help I can get. So I thought I would jump on here and see if anyone could share any info. PM's welcome. Thanks!

I do a little freelance web design and would be willing to trade my services for products, taxidermy, tags, etc. Anything hunting related, I would be interested in talking with you.

I am currently designing a poster for the Utah DWR about cougars to be used in school classrooms etc as part of their Discover Utah Wildlife series. I am looking for a good high res image of a cougar. Preferable taken in Utah. Would anyone be willing to donate such a photo? Feel free to contact...
I was curious whether there were Boone and Crockett scorers at the expo this year. I know they have been there in previous years, but wanted to make sure before lugging some antlers down there to be scored. I looked on the website ([URL:www.huntexpo.com) but couldn't find anything.
Thanks in...
I'm looking at the Leupold Compact spotter 15-30 x 50. I have a cheap spotter right now, so high magnification doesn't help me out much. Do you think 30x is enough power. I primarily hunt in Utah and surrounding states, quite a bit of high elevation mule deer hunting.
I like this scope because...
My Dad got his bull in Wyoming 31 on Oct. 1st. He hunted the bow hunt really hard, had a few opportunities, but never sealed the deal. He watched this bull for a long time, and finally decided to tag out. I didn't have this image url, so here the link to the pictures...
I am looking for a new pack for the upcoming year. I am looking for a smaller pack (2000) or so inches and have the ability to pack out an animal. Here is what I've narrowed it down to: Eberlestock X2, Badlands 2200, or the mainbeam /mainbeam xl. I don't want a pack as big as the XL and was...
Mike, emailed me this to post...you better fill us in with the story cause I know nothing about this buck other than it is huge and looks like you he's on the front of a giant boat. (jk)
I'm looking at spotters, would be used as an all around, deer, elk, antelope, maybe a rare sheep hunt. What would you choose, 45x or 60x magnification?
Just a quick question about spotting scopes. I am interested in getting a new scope and am really impressed with vortex optics. I am however on a budget. I was looking at the Vortex Impact Angled 70mm. Just curious if anyone has used it. I'd love some feedback...positive or negative. Thanks in...
Just wondering if anyone has downed a moose yet? I'd love to see some pics and hear some stories. I've been out with my brother a few days, he's been seeing a lot of bulls, one that caught his eye, but he hasn't seen him since the rifle opened. Still a lot of season left though. Anyhow good luck...
LAST EDITED ON Sep-01-08 AT 08:36PM (MST)[p]So I've had a badlands pack for about 8 years or so. I don't know the model number, It's been a great pack, but I think within a year or two the shoulder strap might tear out, so I think it's about time I get a new one. I want to go with a badlands...
Okay, while I'm on the topic of moose hunting, lets see some of your trophies, either field photos or photos of mounts, Let's hear the width and approximate score of the animal. Stories are great too.
Does anyone know when the wyoming nonresident elk draw will be posted? I thought it was supposed to be at the same time as the deer and antelope...anyone have answers?
