I've read/heard that 1) the bargain caves in the retail stores are being eliminated, and 2) the Cabelas legendary brand guarantee is being eliminated at the end of 2018 since they are now owned by bass pro. Has anyone heard similar? Thoughts?

Curious how the pressure gets once the general season for elk kicks in and overlaps with a deer hunt, specifically the areas where elk starts sept 26th in western side of the state. I've hunted both deer and elk but the units were only open for one or the other.

Opening day success in a general unit. Found him 2 days before opener and watched him until season came in. Gross score approx 170 B&C. Spent the following week scouting some nearby areas. Hottest weather I've ever experienced in October in mountains.

Is the opener still October 10th for the general units? I remember a proposal to move it to 10/9 since that is a saturday, but I think it got shot down this spring/summer by the F&G. Just trying to get clarification.

Can someone explain to me why the opening date for Unit 135 is October 1st, and the other units (143, 144, 145) that comprise Region G have an opening date of September 15th? So I drew a controlled deer tag last year. Per the regs I know I'm not eligible for a controlled deer tag this year (at least for the 1st draw). But does anyone know for sure if this applies for the 2nd draw? Thanks in advance.
