My son and i drew unit 15 late muzzy in outfitter pool. Got an email and my wife hit the lotto! Valles Caldera first muzzy!! How she got the one NR unguided tag in the 6% pool for that hunt is beyond me but we are stoked!! Sb196 Be Damned!! We will be headed back to New Mexico again this year...

NR. 6 of us applied for elk. 2 applied in 10% outfitter pool and were successful. 4 applied in the "HAIL MARY" 6% unguided pool and didnt draw.

My sons email just came!!!!!! Backdoor proved to be correct so far. 15 late muzzy. One more to go and we are set!

The activity on this forum has dropped to nothing since the application deadline. I know lots of you are superstitious. Is it bad luck to post messages before the draw? If so im screwed! Ha ha. Good luck to all.

Yes my son and i entered in the guided pool. The outfitter thinks the odds will be better because of all the out of state outfitters eliminated by SB 196. I have serious doubts though. Time will tell.

I bought the new Swaro EL's this year and i was unimpressed. In my opinion they are inferior to my 12 yr old Leica BN's. They are lighter but thats it. Next time its Leica for me.

Speaking from a nonresident perspective i think the outfitter pool will be flooded by nonresidents. At 6% for NR pool we have virtually no chance of drawing in the quality units. All of this means more business for outfitters.
