I think that generally speaking, western hunting is getting harder and harder to do with any regularity so I'm going to take my hunts where I can find them and enjoy it while I can.

with that many points as a resident, I'd probably look at one of the 3rd season tags in some of the better/lower units. Its a later hunt now and could be pretty cool... either way, good luck!

I considered sharing points with a friend to do a mid-tier unit but at the end of the day I think I'll try for a hunting experience that I can't have here in Colorado.

I've used the Kelty hauler frame for years and I really like it. Its always been hard to find a pack that fits my waist (on the small side) and my torso length. This pack has fit well and worked great over the years. I'd get another one if this one ever falls apart.

I absolutely don't mean for this to come out negative but if you can take a goat in G13 with a traditional muzz my hat is off to you! Good luck! I took my goat there in 2008 at 384 yards.

If I were looking for a starting point in Colorado I'd start with the big game brochure and look at units that have an early September rifle hunt (there are not allot of these units). These hunts are typically good for timberline and above so you'll know right off that some one felt like there...

+1 for the TAG bags. Excellent concept for keeping meat fresher longer by wicking moisture away. I've been using mine for a few years now. They clean up well and hold up well.
