I have put in for a controlled hunt in ID. Is it possible to buy an OTC general tag before the draw takes place and keep stay in the draw? I'm a non resident and want to ensure I have an opportunity to get out. This is the first year ever that I didn't draw anything in my home state of NV.

Yes, you can buy a general season tag before the draw. If you do draw a controlled tag you will have to exchange your tag which may have a small fee. I really doubt Idaho will sell out the OTC tags before draw results are posted. I would just wait until after the draw if I were you and keep an eye on how many OTC tags are left.
