No clue as to the Star Hotel for me. I've driven thru Elko but never stopped. Is it a gentleman's 'entertainment' venue?

It's just a famous place to eat in Elko. I first ate there with Kilowatt about 10-12 years ago. Great food and they just keep bringing it to you until you can barely walk. The steaks just barely fit on the plate.

I ate there a long time ago with a large group. They served Basque food family style. It just kept coming and the steaks were great.

Too bad I didn't know about it. I just checked out their website & menu. No prices, tho.

It took me a while to even recall why I went through Elko. About 1990 or so, Ellen & I had been at a writer's conference in SLC & decided to take the long way home with a visit my youngest son in Lodi, CA, where he was stationed as an Army recruiter. We drove I80 from SLC to Sacramento, with brief stops in Reno & Tahoe. I recall winning a $600 slot pot when I stuck in a quarter on our way to the restaurant thru a casino in Tahoe.
