Take the tag. If you aren't finding bulls of the right caliber you can turn the tag back in up until the day before the opener and keep your points. It will cost you the price of the tag though unless you turn it 30 days ahead.

Check ouy the bushnell elite. its a little bulky but good quality and glass. i found the nikon eyepeice gave me a headache.

I use a manfroto. Its sturdy and not excessively heavy. I tried a vanguard but got rid of it because it was too heavy.

I've been told you will only see a difference when taking pics. the HD is much better for pics.

I use the Badlands Hypervent. It is very comfortable and packs all the gear i need. I also used it to pack out 3 deer quarters (2 inside, 1 strapped on the outside). Worked awesome.
