Ok, I think I know how you could figure true drawing odds for Nevada. However, I don't think there is any way to obtain the information to figure it. Lets say you wanted to figure odds for area 6 late. You would have to take every application that lists area 6 late as a choice, any choice 1-5...

Use of hounds to hunt bear and mountain lion can continue in Nevada..... for now anyway. The State wildlife commission rejected the petition which sought to outlaw hounds in bear hunting. Petitioners did not seek to outlaw hounds in mountain lion hunting. This was just another attempt to stop...

So, in the commission meeting last Saturday, Commissioner Mori asked one of the Biologists what would happen next year if they went with the dept recs on deer and they were successful getting buck ratios down to thirty. The biologist response was: You will see a reduction in tags next year...

Just saw the list of proposed quotas from NDOW If they get their way, there will be substantial increases in tag numbers this year, for all species.

Anyone know if any big bulls were killed in 17 during the archery or early rifle?

does anyone know if any bulls were taken out of area 17 on the early hunt? This was the first year it's been open. Heard there was a couple monster bulls in there but haven't heard if anyone took one.

I think we all need to stop using this number as though it's written in stone that 13,000 tags will be cut. That was an estimate based on what it would take with 2010 buck/doe ratios to get to 18/100 verses 15/100. This new system will not go into effect until 2012. I would hope more up to date...

All other big game species I can think of, elk, sheep, goats, antelope are all captured and transplanted to suppliment herds. If we have "nuisance" deer in farmers fields and in city limits etc. other than the cost of the capture, is there a biological reason we cant catch these deer and move...

well, after walking through some of the most beautiful deer habitat the last several days in southern utah. I can honestly say this is the worst I've seen it in 35 years of hunting there. didn't see a mature buck and does are way down. talked to a biologist who said winter kill took it's toll...
