This ram was harvested opening weekend. Measures 30 1/4 x 12 and 30 x 12. Older class ram at 10 years old. Yes, the hunter did shoot him in the nose. One of his best features in my opinion is that he has amazing beard and chaps. If you have never experienced seeing a ram standing on a...
This ram was harvested over the weekend by a fifteen year old huntress. He measures 31x13 on right and 30 1/4 x 12 3/4 on his left. Harvested saturday morning, shot 403 yards. I will post the rest of the rams as I get the pictures. You won't be disappointed as the average on the four is 30 1/4".
Post some pictures of the rams that hit the ground and lets see some giants! Remember now, you can't shoot monsters if you pull the trigger on little ones! Get out of the trucks and go, go, go!
Wes!
Congrats! I love that secret spot! How many rams did you see there? Its been a while since Jed and I were in there, the last time it was amazing at the number of rams that were present. Hope all is well.
I was told that a Father/Son team from Capitan NM was named the winners of this years contest. I beleive 9 dogs was the magic number. There was a team that checked in 2 minutes behind the winners also with 9 dogs.
These are the bucks we harvested east of Logan NM this weekend in the sands. We were fortunate enough to see these two deer numerous times over the past 60 days. I posted some pictures of the bigger buck on MM back in September, now that he is on the ground we were just as excited. The wind...
LAST EDITED ON Sep-26-10 AT 07:50AM (MST)[p]Hoping everyone will give their opinion on this particular buck we found yesterday and truly enjoy looking at this awesome deer as much as I did. I am hoping that in three weeks I will be able to post pictures of this deer, with a proud and extremely...
The last time I checked, ranchers have to pay to run cattle on public land, I would think there using some of that money from the elk tags to pay that cost! Maybe the ranchers should just sell off all their cattle, get out of production agriculture all together, then they would not need to run...
Good Gosh! Where and the h&*$ are you hunting at that elk tags cost that much, and antelope too???????? You are way out there on that one, honestly do you have a clue??????? Sounds to me like you need to do more research.
LAST EDITED ON Aug-28-10 AT 04:54PM (MST)[p]Ya! Them LO are a bunch of greedy punks! Never mind the fact that there much better stewards of the land than the G&F EVER, EVER thought about being. Your right they need the money from their permits to help offset the cost they have in ranching and...
This is going to be pretty interesting! Curious to see what the outcome is gonna be! I can say this, most of the ranchers I know are not gonna take one permit and open their PRIVATE LAND to other hunters, there gonna shut everything down! I am with Jim, G&F should be selling this on pay per view!
ELKMAN, I totally agree, along with a few others, so why dont you stop this BS, get off you band wagon and find something else to complain about? Seriously, enough is enough already.
Its funny how many people talk bad about JFWRC, to me it just means that he must be doing something right, for if he was not then no one would be saying a word! Everyone should work at this as much as he and his wife do, then once you have walked in their shoes you can pass judgement. Just my...
I am in need of 1 unit 15 archery and 1 unit 15 muzzleloader tags. If you have any or know of anyone that does have one for sale please contact me. Willing to pay going rate. Thanks for your help.

This ram is amazing to see! I count eight rings, wrinkled nose, and from what we see in the picture he has awesome hair. His hook is something else, my guess is in the 29"+ range. Dont let that gap between the horns be a factor, I shot a ram four years ago that is 31 4/8" x 29 3/4 " and he...

Posted are a few pictures of rams we were able to harvest this year. Although not the giants we were looking for we are still extremely happy with the outcome. I will post a few more in the upcoming weeks.
Ram looks great, above average mass, great hair, big mature ram! Gotta love it! I guess he is about 7 to 8 years old looking at the rings I can see in the picture, guess him to be 27 3/4" to 28 1/2". Very curious to see what he actually does measure. This is the hardest animal, in my...
Ram in the picture, in my opinion, is an absolute no brainer, SHOOT!!! He is huge in terms of shear horn mass, and length. There is no hair between his horns and carries the mass extremely well. I hope you find him in the next few days, good luck!

Think I figured out how to get them on here so all can view. Let me know what you think! These three rams were pictured at different locations on the same day.
Well I gotta say that I am glad to get all the opinions on this particular ram. This picture was taken right at 500 yards. This coming season will be by 22nd year to hunt sheep in NM. Needless to say its a passion. I do not claim to be an expert on judging sheep but I must say that I think...

The first picture is one that my friend and I took over Thanksgiving, the one ram standing we guessed at 27"-28" and the other ram at 24"-25".
The sheep that I took last year measured 30 1/2" on one side and 29 3/4 on the other side, if you look close the short horn was damaged somehow...
