It seems that everyone I know that has a 788 has a 4x weaver on top. It was a very popular scope back then. Both were very inexpensive.

I bought one of the Hornady sonic cleaners and it doesn't really clean the primer pocket. I use a q-tip to clean the residue out after the sonic cleaner then put them in my vibrating case cleaner with corn cob media.
