Where is the best burger between Beaver and Salt Lake. Normally stop at Arscheles in Beaver for chicken fried steak but want a killer burger this time

Once I got food poisoning from a Guacamole burger in Fillmore at Carl's Jr. on Thanksgiving Eve on the way to the in-laws. It was 'killer'...almost.

It may be a little far north but I would suggest JCW's in Lehi at the Thanksgiving Point Exit. Great burgers, fries and shakes.

Whatever you do, don't stop in Nephi for anything but gas. WE walked in to the Subway on the south end of town, as I was waiting for my dad and brother to get done using the restroom, I happened to look over at the different styles of sandwich bread in the glass case and noticed it was packed full of flies! Yes, I watched these employees taking orders pull bread from that case and serve it to customers. I told the employee They need to throw that bread away and consider a little pest control before serving any more food in that joint!

We went across the street to the burger place and it was the same exact thing! Flies everywhere! We opted to continue our journey south in hopes of finding a cleaner place to eat!

This all happened last year. This year, my wife, kids and I stopped in Nephi to gas up. My kids wanted to eat a subway. I told them the story and they called me out on it. So we went in the Subway and sure enough, flies all over and fly sh!t all over the windows....My kids still wanted to eat there but I put my foot down and we went to the subway in Gunnison instead!

I feel your pain man, I have gotten food poisoning from 3 different Carls Jr's. It wasn't pretty. You'd think that I would have learned my lesson the first time but......I'm a sucker for that western bacon cheese burger...........

However, 3 times and I'm cured of that joint! Never again will my family or I set foot in a Carl's Jr.!!!

LAST EDITED ON Aug-17-15 AT 11:45PM (MST)[p]R&R BBQ in downtown Salt Lake has a Caveman Burger. It has smoked sausage, pulled pork, 1/3 lb ground chuck, jack cheese and jalapenos. Best damn burger I have ever had.

JCW's does a good burger. They also have a good variety. But they are not in the same class as Lucky 13, in my opinion. That isn't a slight on JCW's either. Just totally different types of places. If you hit Lucky 13, don't forget your ID. It is a bar and they check you at the door.

I'll take a JR Munchies burger in Richfield any day. Lived on them in High School and I've yet to find one that beats it.

Since it sounds like you'll be driving, please don't drink a pitcher of beer as has been suggested so many times...

Still, I've been told Lucky 13 is delicious.

And I never eat at Carl's Jr. They sling food poisoning using pornographic imagery. Wouldn't eat it if I was dying.

Wow there are some good sounding burgers along the way. Guess I will have to see how tired I am and where I will be stopping for the night. Lucky 13, a pitcher of beer and a cab sounds pretty good
