I own an 07 and love it. I get a little over 17 on the highway. My next truck will be another Tundra, but I'll keep driving this one for quite a while. +1 on the small gas tank. No other complaints. This is my 5th Toyota truck. Never had a problem with any of them.

I'm warming up to sing the tag soup blues with my Wasatch muzzy tag. I scouted and hunted hard. Had my chances the 1st couple of days, but now I'm struggling to find any elk. I only have 2 more half days to make it happen.

I've been hunting the Wasatch and all the big bulls I've been after are in thick cover. If I finally take a shot, it will probably be under 30 yards. I almost need a bayonet to keep the satellites of me. How do I get the herd bull to come out where I can shoot him? Once I'm close, if I bugle...

I drew Wasatch muzzy with 9 points. But for deer I put general archery as a 1st choice and didn't draw. I'm not complaining this year.

I put my 12 year old in last year for the youth elk hunt.

Buy him a turkey tag. They are over the counter and the youth get a few days to hunt before the adults start the general. My son loved it. It was a great first hunt because I could let him carry the gun while I watched the muzzle to make sure he was being safe.

The real joke in the current system is that Connecticut with 4 losses in a weak conference gets a BCS game. The big east is a joke! Virginia Tech with 2 losses gets a BCS game. There are many teams that deserve a BCS game before those 2 teams. And yes, I know Boise beat VT.

Typical BSU fan. Beat a bad Utah team, get 3 penalties called against you in the entire game, and complain about the reffing. A true top 10 team should beat Utah like TCU did.

Totally not impressed with Boise St. If Utah would have made 2 easy field goals and caught a couple of passes that they dropped, a crappy Utah team would have been in that game. THIS year, both teams were over ranked. Utah lost the game more than Boise State won it.

That's hilarious how many people saw that buck. I saw him the last morning nailing a doe. Around lunch time I saw 2 different people shoot at it. One of the shots was from across the canyon. It had to be at least 120 yards. They missed by about 10 feet. Congrats on making a good shot.

So what are they doing with the extended archery hunt?

If it is a buck that gets hit, most of us Utards would finish it off by slitting its throat from front all the way through with the sawzall you keep under your seat.

I ran into this photogenic buck on the way home outside the boundary.

I bumped into a couple on the mountain, but every turn out had several trucks glassing. I had one stalk blown by a snowboarder. That was a 1st. I heard this loud noise as his board was hitting rocks. He hiked a long ways for a 30 second ride.

I like my eberlestock X1. The thing I like most about it is that you can carry your bow in it and get your bow off your back without taking your pack off. It's a great day pack. It was not super comfortable with an elk quarter, but got the job done for the first trip out.
