Saw this photo making the rounds on Facebook this morning. You can find it on the Tines Up Facebook page. According to the posting on Facebook, it is the biggest buck to ever come off the Paunsaugunt/Alton unit. Scores 259 6/8. Lucky hunter was Jeff Richards. What a sweet buck!

Now you see it, now you don't

LAST EDITED ON Sep-09-14 AT 09:44PM (MST)[p]I thought I'd share this three shot sequence of a buck chomping down a sunflower. I also figured the three views in the photo provide a good look at his antlers from multiple angles. He's no monster, but just for fun and practice let's throw out some...

    Waiting my turn

I've still got a while until my hunt starts, so I tend to spend a lot of time out chasing deer with my camera in order to get me through. Here's a couple of Antelope Island bucks that keep me dreaming. Enjoy. DSC08460 by gao_er_fu_qiu, on Flickr

    Which buck would you take?

LAST EDITED ON Jul-16-14 AT 08:21AM (MST)[p]These are all Antelope Island bucks, but we can still have a little fun. You stumble across a new honey hole on a general season unit. You have a tag in your pocket and a moment to decide before they all take off. You can only choose one. Which buck do...

    Utah Spike Muzzleloader

This was my first year using a muzzleloader for deer, and I had a great time and killed a nice buck. I am contemplating buying one of the general spike muzzleloader permits, but unsure whether it would be worth my time. I have only hunted elk with a bow, and have limited knowledge of hunting...

    First Muzzleloader Buck

My brother and I drew muzzleloader tags for the Pine Valley general season unit in Utah. We grew up in St. George, and spent all of our early hunting years roaming the hills there. Early in the summer we purchased new CVA Optima V2's and spent a lot of time at the range getting familiar with...

    Broadmouth CWMU (Deer)

Does anyone have knowledge of the Broadmouth CWMU as far as the deer hunting is concerned? I have read much about their controversial high fence elk hunts. I have also scoured the archives of this site and others and have found information on the moose hunting there, but nothing concerning deer...

LAST EDITED ON Oct-28-10 AT 11:29AM (MST)[p]Let me start off by addressing what many people are talking about. The rifle deer hunt this year was strange, and I don't believe it is because deer numbers are down. While out during the archery and muzzle loader seasons deer numbers seemed very...
