Well seems I forgot to apply for a pref point for elk this year. I got my deer app in but completely forgot about my elk point. If I apply for a tag during the 2nd draw and do NOT draw that tag, do I get a pref point? I'm guessing no but here's hoping :)

Just checked and I didnt draw my Strip tag. I had max points plus loyalty and hunter ed point. My new points show the extra point from this year but my loyalty point has disappeared. I'm sure this is just a glitch but wondered if it has happened to anyone else.

I've always heard that wild fires remove excessive brush and trees and encourage growth of browse favored by deer and elk. If we have somewhat easy winters the next 5 years, can we expect a healthy growth in the herd numbers?
