Quick question... I drew an Area 6 Oct. deer tag for the first time and I was wondering if the NDOW guzzler map would be a worthwhile resource? Or, is there enough natural water sources on most of those ranges to make that map a not needed item, in terms of scouting for decent areas. Normally...

I am thinking about a .270 Win or .308 Win for my daughters first full sized(stock)rifle for Elk. I'm looking at those because the rifle will be light weight and I don't want the recoil to be too bad. Which caliber would you go with? I think the recoil would be similar...thoughts.

I consider this a victory....very important winter range. I've seen deer, elk and antelope all standing around together in the snow. Houses there would have been a terrible blow. I wish IDF&G would have bought it instead of the city. I think it's long term future would be more secure. Thoughts?

Well, after a couple of days of hunting a place with a good buck in the area, I saw this doe and couldn't bear to watch her suffer with what appeared to be a bad leg. I feel good about helping her out as well as not giving the coyotes a free meal. The buck, I guess can wait until next year...
