I’m proud to say my late Father-in-law Jerry Kuhnhausen is featured in the latest issue of the NRA publication “The American Rifleman.” As dedicated fixtures in the American gun culture for almost 60 years, Jerry and his wife Noel would be pleased with the article about their lives and their...

    Last Day Muzzleloader Bear

I hunted most of the 8 week bear season this year. I saw a lot of animals of all types and looked over quite a few bears, too. So, with 7 min left on the last evening I decided to take this 250 lb?er. Now I am looking forward to some sausage, smoked backstraps, and burgers this summer!? Here?s...

    Area 6 Guzzlers

Quick question... I drew an Area 6 Oct. deer tag for the first time and I was wondering if the NDOW guzzler map would be a worthwhile resource? Or, is there enough natural water sources on most of those ranges to make that map a not needed item, in terms of scouting for decent areas. Normally...

    Area 7 Late Rifle

I had Area 7 once before in a Sept muzz hunt and ate the tag. I passed up many 3 pts. but could not find a bigger buck anywhere. From I have learned that hunt was 2 years after a massive die off(2003 I think)...It was a hard lesson learned. How about the late rifle season, any of you ever...

    What Kids caliber for Elk

I am thinking about a .270 Win or .308 Win for my daughters first full sized(stock)rifle for Elk. I'm looking at those because the rifle will be light weight and I don't want the recoil to be too bad. Which caliber would you go with? I think the recoil would be similar...thoughts.

    Hammer Flat

I consider this a victory....very important winter range. I've seen deer, elk and antelope all standing around together in the snow. Houses there would have been a terrible blow. I wish IDF&G would have bought it instead of the city. I think it's long term future would be more secure. Thoughts?
