    Swarovski 10x42 EL Range

Unless you had the el ranges side by side with the SV's I don't think you see a difference. I have the SV's and love them, and at one time also had the EL ranges, they are a fantastic tool. Weird thing was for me, because of being right eye dominant I had problems seeing the yardage read out...

Exo Mtn Gear vs. The Outdoorsman?

I have the exo 3500 and have been very happy with it. Used it this fall to pack 2 elk off the mountain and it did quite well. The pocket layout fits my style of hunting better than the kuiu and kifaru I had in the past.

    rifles, is lighter better

As I look at my rifles ( which are mostly sakos) I wonder if the current trend to lighter and lighter rifles is a good thing. I always thought an 8 1/2- 9 lbs (scoped) rifle was a nice weight and not bad to carry on hikes and easier to shoot well, but all the talk nows seem to be to lighter...

    Tikka?

I have so far bought 3 tikka's, a ss/syn 7mag,.270 hunter and a 7mm-08 ss/syn. I am also very happy with them.At times the plastic may make you wonder, but mine have seen a lot of use and not let me down yet. Last weekend on a cold, wet Mn. deer opener my son dropped his tikka mag. 15' down his...

Swaro. EL 10x42 and range finder..?

I would call Jim, at Rockstad enterprises in.Ca. 805-434-3567.He knows his stuff and had very fair pricing. Why not look at the lecia geovids, I bought them from Jim this summer and love them. Nice carrying one optic vs. two. I took them on a Wy. antelope hunt and they were incredible.

    Pleased w/ Tikka

    BEST HUNTING RIFLE TO BUY!!!

I would go with a tikka t-3 7 mag or 270 with a leupold 3x9 on top.If you want to spend more, than get a sako.
  30. H

    Any other Tikka owners?

Yes I have bought 3 in the last 2 years: a ss/syn 7mm-08 for the kids, .270 hunter and a 7 mag ss/syn for me. Short of spending over a grand, these are by far the best rifles out there.Have you put a new recoil pad on your 300wsm?

    Tikka or Savage ?

tikka for sure. The savage is a good cheap gun. The tikka is an incredible value. Fit and finish is way past the savage, awesome trigger, smoothest bolt I've tried, low bolt lift and so accurate. I have bought 3 of them. I would hold the tikka to any other production gun out there, go tikka...

    Rifle for son

I agree with the 7mm-08 as a great choice. For my son I first got a remy youth model 7 in that caliber, but after I bought my tikka t-3 I sold the remy and got him a tikka t-3 ss/syn in 7mm-08. It was a great move. He shoots it well. Likes the smooth action, detachable mag and it is light, so he...
