Did you mean the Green River unit? I believe that is what you meant...I have hunted it several times for deer and Elk and I hauled logs out of there for 25 years...I can give you some good info and especially good tactics for the unit...I will see if you reply and then we can get hooked up...Les

    .308 caliber...best factory mulie round

Great information/ideas from you all.....my guess is we will probably try to stay within the 300 yard range if possible and would probably try to make 400 the max and then trust to a better stalk plan... We definitely will be doing some long range practice this summer. Hopefully all the practice...

    .308 caliber...best factory mulie round

The tags we drew are the Chiwawa tags in Washington state, which are very limited and a late season/rut tag. They are not quite the Entiat tag which is probably the best in this state but they are close in quality as Chiwawa borders the Entiat. We drew as partners. I am a bit older so my son is...

    .308 caliber...best factory mulie round

Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a good long range (400 Yard) factory round for a .308? Going on a special tag late season Mulie hunt where my son and I both drew tags. Looking at factory ammo because his .308 is a semi-auto.I would appreciate your feedback and experience with...

    My Minox Review

They are the BD 10x42 BR ASPH and I was extremely impressed for the price when I got them and used them at the end of my Elk hunt. Just keep watching the Cameraland specials and talk with Doug and some open box special will come up at a great price....maybe even some more of these. Good...

    Opinions/ Sightron SII spotting scope

    leica lrf 800/ Nikon 1200

Just thought I would get the opinion from the masses that would help me make my decision on a rangefinder. I mostly hunt Blacktail Deer and Elk and shoot out to the 500ish yard range. I have about $350 to spend and I had settled on a Nikon gold 1200 but recently a friend (who doesn't hunt) had...

    Collectable Ammo

Just wondering if anyone could give me any info on some ammo my Dad traded for many years ago and if it is "collectable" or has any value. Where are all the WA hunters?

Romulus, My two permit hunts were good and OK although I scored on both. My problem was that my "Luck" gave me two tags that ran at the same time in different units....but a nice problem I guess. I was fortunate that I live within ten miles of each unit so that was good at least and I...

Where are all the WA hunters?

If there is any change in the point system as you are suggesting it will have to come in future meetings. There are no max points currently and personally I don't see any problem with the current point system where the points are squared and each person has that many chances in the drawing. I...

    desert A tag

No dis-respect but with over 6000 usually putting in for 15 tags you still have to be extremely Lucky to draw even if you had 15 points. It is a lottery and really LUCKY people with just a few points probably get a few of those tags. They are very highly sought. Its worth a try though..........Les

    Best Spotter for $250??

    Favorite time to hunt?

No problem. They are a great animal to match wits with...........Les

    Favorite time to hunt?

The first answer that comes to mind is "Whenever I can go". In reality I have been hunting them since I was 10 (44 years ago), with a success rate of 95%+ and I have gotten them at all times of the day. Obviously early and late is the best and as I hauled logs in the woods for over 25 years that...

Help with Leupold Vari X II

I recently got a great deal on a mint Belgium Browning BAR 7mm and it came with a Leupold 3x9 Vari X II scope. re-draw for wa

Everyone has their own perspective on this issue. Washington Green River A special permit buck

I hauled logs out of the watershed for over 20 years for Weyerhaeuser and it is not what it was 20 years ago but it is still a great tag to draw.
