Definitely buy the 2nd caribou tag. You don't have to be 100% certain about the size of the first one you shoot if you have the 2nd tag in your pocket. They are probably different from anything you have hunted before, so you can be a little uncertain about whether you're judging them right.

If you decide on Unit 10, you should consider High Point Outfitters. I've known Kevin for 20 years, and he's hunted and guided in 10 for longer than that. They've had great success recently, too with a 400 bull this year and a 380+ bull last year. Here's his website...

Add Ruger Hawkeyes and Tikka T3 Lite's to the list of available lefties in varmint calibers. You may not find many on the shelves, but they are easy to locate on websites like Gunbroker, and you can have them shipped to a local FFL with little hassle.

I saw on another site that it went for $100 K. Less than some years but not bad for this economy. Ought to be a great year for antler growth!

Let's see if I can remember how to post a picture. Here's a good bull in an upright mount in a room with a 10' flat ceiling. The tallest antler point is 2" from the ceiling, and his chin is 63" from the floor. Oh yeah, there's a nice muley there, too!

I'm thinking it might take a primer or cap to make it go BANG! Just kidding. Experiment with your loads. No expert here, but I like the saboted Barnes bullets with a total of 130 grains of pellets behind it. I feel real confident out to 200 yards, and the scope really helps at that distance...

Great-looking bucks! It's also an example of a good paint color for a trophy room. Somehow a medium-dark brown paint makes the colors of the cape and antlers have more contrast and the subtle details of the mount seem more defined.

AZ Game and Fish took a tooth from this buck and said it was 9-1/2 years old.
