Eastwood I drew this same tag about 5 years ago and it was hot and dry and there was no snow in Colorado yet. We seen a lot of does and a few small bucks but never seen a good buck. Hope for snow and hunt towards the Colorado boarder.

If you choose to go with a hollow point conical you will hit the length limit at about 390 gr. with some designs. However, if you stick with a solid nose you can get bullets up to 450 gr and still be legal. It all depends on the shape of the bullets nose and the type side walls it uses to hold...

You've got it, Goex is BP. I should have explained that my results were based on Wano BP and that each brand is different, so your results will be different. Good luck.

The 100 grs of real BP I'm using is about 300 fps slower than 2 Pyrodex pellets with FFFg and 350fps slower with FFg. Wih equal amounts real BP just dosen't create the same pressure as the subs. I suggest you shoot some of both through a cronograph, thats what I did, but then again my comparison...

I never have...I found wads not worth the effort with the conical charges I have used.

Try the MMP HPH-24 sabot whey work well for me with all the .451 Barnes bullets.

Back when I had this tag, I spent 5 days looking in the high mountains just to come down to about 3500 ft. and kill a decent 3X4 in the low country. I shot some Sonic heads this week and after about 8-10 shots into a black hole target the tip of the blades devloped a burr like the three blades were starting to roll over. :(
