Does anybody have a reference for natural looking fake velvet? Too often I see velvet that doesn’t look anywhere close to natural. I shot a nice buck recently and the velvet ended up ruined and rotted. I’m having a euro mount done but would like velvet applied if it’s possible to get a close...

How did the hunt go?

lucked out this year with a 121L deer tag and a 161 muzzy elk tag in September. Getting maps ordered up but interested to hear whatever anyone is willing to share about 161. Planning to backpack in as of now but waiting on the maps to determine access points and distances. Chasing rutting elk...

I drew 121L. I've been through there but never hunted it. Ordering maps and hoping to learn what the deer do, if anything, by the first few days of November. Thanks.

I gotta find one up there this Friday. Havent tried it before. Ive got a 4 wheeler if it's necessary. Anybody have any ideas?

The DIY-WHFF option JFWRC fit perfectly into the type of NR hunt I was looking for last year. I would highly recommend Jim as an outfitter and will certainly be calling to show support for this option as a NR outfitted hunter.

Thanks. He's very symetrical and very young. I can't imagine how great he would have been in a year or two. He's a low 160's buck because he lacks mass but I'm still real happy with him as he took a ton of work to find. Maybe next year I'll get one to shoulder mount. ;)

Here's the euro mount. Didn't turn out too bad. Maybe next year New Mexico will give me one worthy of a shoulder mount. ;)

Just returned from a hunt and had a great time. Worked long and hard fighting the full moon and general lack of weather resembling wintertime. Also returned to a destroyed camp after a crazy windstorm, luckily reasonable accomodations weren't too far off. Did find partial success for the two...

Holy Moly! A guy posts a picture of a great cow taken on a depredation hunt, and AAOutfitters drops in with posting pics of his client's OIL cows, (which are great cows, but taken on a completely different and trophy oriented hunt). I'd call that a hijack. But . . . .Everyone's a hater now...
