Anyone have any tips/tricks for antler restoration. I've got an Oregon Blacktail I want to do. Antlers are stained and have some checking (cracking). I've read several blogs on doing it. Some say to paint white and use stain, some say use Potassium Permanganate. Any tips?

How are the herds doing in that area? They were hit hard by a bad winter a couple years ago. Last time I went the deer numbers were way down. Any better yet?

We all know the outlook, but what in your opinion is THE best deer hunt in Oregon RIGHT NOW?

After 13 years together the wife finally wants to hunt. What unit(s) can we draw as second choice for antelope? We would want something on the west side as it is closer to Oregon, but I know those are hard to draw. Would prefer a hunt that has access to public or open to public. Thank you

I have never applied in AZ for any species. Am I way too far out to even start applying? I am 37 now and I am proficient with rifle, bow and muzzleloader. This year I plan to do "points only". Should I start applying or save my money?

The regs say to send in each app with payment in seperate envelope. Can I put them (elk, antelope) in seperate envelopes, but mail them both in one priority envelope?

So what do you think? Are we all drawing this year? I think the odds might just be worse because everyone might think they'll have a better shot at drawing causing more people to apply.
