I've no complaints with my current combo of 42 gr. of IMR4350 and 115 gr, NPs. I'm 2 grains over max according to the Nosler manual. BUT, the Hodgdon/IMR site lists 45.5 grains as max load. That's a pretty big jump. Anybody use this combo?? What kind of velocity are you getting?

2nd question.. I developed a load for the .270 using brass fired from that rifle. That load is pushing the envelope. I'm wondering if using new brass for the same load will cause an increase in pressure.

In the struggle for allocation of square footage I have lost. Reloading has been downgraded to a garage activity. I have always stored components in an indoor closet. Due to the hot dry summers here I am planning on continuing this practice. However, I'd sure like to lock them in a cabinet...

Anyone try em yet??? They are supposedly made in Oregon by Leupold. I looked at one yesterday and couldn't find "Made in Oregon" or "Made in USA". Maybe I didn't look hard enough. The gun counter at Cabella's said Oregon, but I hardly think they are an authority.

FYI. Just got the 300 back from the smith. He was amazed at the gunky build up in the action. Despite my best efforts to contain wipe out to the barrel, some ended up over the trigger. Apparently it causes quite the mess when it seeps into the action.

Just thought I'd pass this on. Nikon withdrew sponsorship of a recent coyote calling contest because the wolf supporters called Nikon and made a fuss. For the record, Sportsmans Warehouse and Cabelas didn't flinch. Took back my nikon rangefinder.

Just kidding. Found one that didn't exit. .308, 180 grn. 2680 fps, 30-06, bout 200 yrds, elk. Now weighs 105 grn. I should note that I would not use these bullets at higher velocities, higher being subjective. Thought I'd share.

Caliber will be 30-06 A.I. on Rem 700 action, Lilja SS barrel, probably 25" (just couldn't resist throwing 180 gr scirrocos at 2900 fps). Now to decided on a contour. Smithy recommends #6, but that may be a little bulky. Might go #5 and take 8 oz or so off the rifle. Any thoughts? Thanks

Kudus to Leupold. I have a 25 year old VXIII that has been used and abused. I noticed a spot of moisture under lens. Leupold replaced the lens, replaced the cams, and got it back to me in very short order. For free. They have my business.

I've heard reports of the wolves in central Idaho digging hibernating bears out of thier dens last winter. Guess they are out of elk to eat. I thought of asking fish and game but they are generally the last to find out. Anyone heard of this?

3050 fps. My rifle likes them and I've got plenty loaded up. I don't see a problem but I thought I'd ask if anybody has used this bullet on bulls.
